Therapeutic Approach
I believe that you are the expert on yourself—more than anyone else. My role in therapy is to be your guide, healer, interpreter, or supporter, as the moment calls for. It is important for me that you feel safe, empowered, and supported every step of the way.
We should be considered holistically and in context: within social systems, family history, childhood development, biology, and relationships with others, to name a few. In the face of patriarchy, white supremacy, and many other forms of systemic oppression that affect every one of us, it's a priority of mine to create an emphatically inclusive space that affirms and celebrates your own cultural and social identity.
Some areas that I am experienced addressing are expressing your authenticity and unique voice, healing from trauma, alleviating emotional challenges (such as depression and anxiety), facing inner shame, navigating communication struggles, and dealing with chronic illness. My approach is influenced by person-centered therapy, narrative therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), internal family systems (IFS), polyvagal theory, and psychodynamic therapy.
